Bedlam

Aroview: Meticulous though a trifle tame Val Lewton (CAT PEOPLE) production frequents the drawing rooms and asylums of 18th century London. Boris Karloff is suitably menacing as the madhouse-keeper who contrives to have zealous reformer Anna Lee committed to his care. Excellent visuals echo Hogarth's etchings of the era.
