Aroview: Based on the play by revered French writer Marcel Pagnol, this is the first film in the Marseille Trilogy featuring the characters of Marius (Pierre Fresnay), his ex-fiancee, Fanny (played by Orane Demazis), and his father, César (played by Raimu), who are the titular characters in the second and third parts of the trilogy. One of the first successful French "talkies".
