5 stars (Exceptional) Unusual, harrowing film has its protagonist in near-continual close up while the events of Auschwitz happen behind & around him - out of focus or unseen, half-heard, etc. The intricate plotting of a crime film, but with a careful emotional emphasis. ~Toby Dammit
4 stars (Very Good) Feeling depressed? This is one for lifting your spirits. Most of the action takes place in an ill lit abattoir with death lingering everywhere - and you are not there. It gets full marks for an original screenplay. ~Tubbs
