Aroview: Tender cross-cultural tale with a German widower travelling to Japan to honour his wife's wishes to see the famed cherry blossom festival.

A portrait of grief that overcomes an overwrought first hour to become something genuinely moving. Another in a spate of recent films indebted to Yasujiro Ozu this lacks much of the master director's nuances, but on it's own terms succeeds in prying loose a tear or two.
