Beneath Hill 60

Australia 2010, 122 minutes
Dir. Jeremy Sims
Genres: Action/Adventure / War

Topics: Period - 1910s.

Aroview: Gripping, untold story of Australian daring beneath the trenches of WWI concerns a group of rag-tag engineers charged with sabotaging the enemy's tunnel network by digging deeper and detonating explosives from below.

Standard war cliches aside, this is a rousing and at times unbearably tense watch that recalls the claustrophobic perils of DAS BOOT, as well as capitalising on the promise shown by dir. Sims; his previous film, LAST TRAIN TO FREO, an equally nerve-racking, confined-space scenario.
