Godspeed

Heavy-handed themes dog this otherwise vivid Alaskan thriller, in which a small-time preacher experiences a crisis of faith in the aftermath of the murder of his wife and child. A moody, gothic sensibility goes a long way to compensating for the film’s excessive melodrama.
