Aroview: Sequel to 2006 mega-hit NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM sees Ben Stiller return to his role as security guard, this time on a mission to infiltrate the Smithsonian Museum in order to rescue two of his friends who have been shipped there as exhibits.
Although dir. Levy adds nothing new to the formula, he succeeds with a bigger-is-better motto that embraces every inch of the (much larger) Smithsonian, and there's a quirky sensibility to many of the gags that evoke the TOY STORY films. Although Stiller is still a fairly pedestrian lead, the rest of the cast is rounded out with some excellent new additions, including Amy Adams in a terrifically energetic turn as a wax aviation pioneer. It still remains the villainous Hank Azaria's show, however.
