Midnight Meat Train, The

Aroview: Twisted horror based on cult-horror writer Clive Barker's 'Books Of Blood' sees a photographer (Cooper) grow obsessed with a butcher (Jones) who he sees regularly beat passengers to death on the New York subway.

For the most part this sticks to a fairly standard slasher-flick template - with Jones as a particularly effective villain - although it all falls off the rails in the last third when overwhelmed by the usual fantasy/mythological stuff Barker is so fond of. Gorehounds, however, will be in raptures with some of the gristly stuff on display here.
