Aroview: Louise Rennisonís much-loved youth novel comes to the screen as a sprightly feelgood comedy about a teenager recording the pitfalls of her dweeby adolescence in a personal journal.
Like an angsty BRIDGET JONESíS DIARY for teens, this visits those sometimes embarrassing, sometimes exhilarating years with oodles more charm and wit than similar Stateside fare, despite a storyline that feels more than a bit familiar. The director of BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM makes this smart enough to satisfy fans of the novel, and also teens looking for something they can relate to in amongst the airbrushed unreality.

4 stars (Very Good) I loved this movie! I think it really relates to pre-teen/teenage girls like me. Not only is it hilariously funny, but it's a fantastic film to play at girly sleepovers, parties etc. Recommended to girls 12-18~Vertz
