Infinite Justice

UK 2006, 93 minutes
Dir. Jamil Dehlavi
Genres: Suspense/Crime / Hostages & Terrorism

Topics: Politics.

Aroview: Following in the footsteps of A MIGHTY HEART, this vigorous political thriller inspired by the Daniel Pearl case follows an investigative journalist attempting to infiltrate the Al-Qaeda terrorist network who becomes a hostage and negotiable weapon.

Using a game of chess as a springboard for the discussion of differing perspectives, this makes some telling remarks about the current divisive climate, but tends to reduce complex issues down to overly simplistic explanations of personal and political difference. Made with the best of intentions, but in a manner that isn't quite as potent or provocative as similar post-9/11 films.
