After the Wedding
Aroview: A rewarding drama with a political conscience and a romantic heart, Mads Mikkelsen plays a teacher at an Indian orphanage who returns to Denmark to accept a corporate donation that comes with personal strings attached.
Following OPEN HEARTS and BROTHERS, this third collaboration between dir. Susanne Bier and prolific screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen is their most assured (and internationally successful) yet. Set against a backdrop of uneasy capitalism in a new 'globalized' world, this ultimately relies a little too heavily on co-incidence for one not to notice, but there's little else not to recommend about this solid, thought-provoking film.
