Tiger's Tail, The

Ireland 2006, 102 minutes
Dir. John Boorman
Genres: Suspense/Crime / Black Comedy

Topics: Business & Economics, Satire.

Aroview: John Boorman points his moral compass towards the ‘miracle’ Irish economy in this patchy yet worthwhile satirical thriller about an enterprising billionaire (Gleeson) whose encounter with his doppelganger leads to a series of social and financial home truths.

While not up there with the best of Boorman’s work, and frequently grasping to make a cohesive statement about the grim flipside of booming business, this works on the level of cautionary fable, with Gleeson shining once again in an unattractive role.
