Railway Children, The

UK 2000, 108 minutes
Dir. Catherine Morshead
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Family / Adventure, Youth

Topics: Rites-of-passage.

Aroview: Reviving Edith Nesbit’s classic turn-of-the-century tale of three siblings displaced to the English countryside is this freshly minted adaptation, with Richard Attenborough lending heft as the children’s wrongly accused father. Jenny Agutter, who starred as Bobbie in the 1970 version, returns here to play the mother, adding a nice generational touch.
