USA 2002, 84 minutes
Dir. Chris Eyre
Genres: Drama / Independent

Topics: Indigenous & Minority Cultures.

Aroview: An unglamorous and brutal depiction of life on a Native American reservation, this articulates the rage of a group of people relegated to the fringes of American society.

Told through the eyes of two estranged Sioux brothers struggling at the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum, dir. Chris Eyre’s follow-up to SMOKE SIGNALS may be slight in story but is made with few concessions, aptly set under the eyes of Mt. Rushmore, a beacon of freedom that he suggests is closed off to the film’s subjects.
