Wrong Man, The

aka: Lucky Number Slevin
USA 2006, 109 minutes
Dir. Paul McGuigan
Rating: [R16]
Genres: Suspense/Crime

Topics: Mind-bender.

Aroview: A crazily convoluted thriller with a powerhouse cast, this is heavy on slick violence and self-aware pop-gun dialogue, with levels of gamesmanship raised throughout.

Hartnett sets the cat amongst two crime boss pigeons (Freeman and Kingsley) in Manhattan by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, his ill-informed visit to a friend resulting in both criminals wanting the other’s son killed. Willis plays a mysterious hitman whilst Liu is the romantic interest as the film offers up a potential new scenario every five minutes, and eventually takes a sharp dark turn.
