Stealth

USA 2005, 116 minutes
Dir. Rob Cohen
Rating: [M]
Genres: Action/Adventure

Aroview: Paranoid technology thriller has three top navy fighter pilots (Biel, Lucas, Foxx) startled to discover their new wingman is EDI - a highly complex artificial intelligence, which visually resembles a metallic bowling ball.

Foreshadowed by debates among the three as to the ethics of allowing massively destructive weaponry to be controlled in this way, EDI is struck by lightning during a mission and turns nasty, possibly initiating a massive, unstoppable world war... Intermixed with subplots involving North Korean intrigues, Russian warlords, and other matters, this is one of the most demented Hollywood thrillers of recent years. Hardly credible, and yet sleekly, stupidly enjoyable.
