Hail The Conquering Hero

Aroview: Crazed comedy from dir. Sturges, with Bracken starring as a WW2 soldier, who never actually saw any action because of his hay fever, but who upon returning to his hometown is inadvertantly hailed as a major war hero. Unable to convince anyone of his true status, he is eventually nominated as mayor!

Sturges rolls out some of his zaniest dialogue, with an accompanying complement of oddball characters and gags. A must-see for screwball fans.
